This is definitely not your typical pizza crust recipe.  I came up with this out of necessity when I had my in-home daycare. We alway had our cooking class on Friday and I knew I needed to be prepared.  However,  one Friday I had a child help me get the supplies ready and we noticed, uh oh, No pizza dough!  Oops, I forgot to buy it at the store. Time to start thinking fast.  I had seven kids really excited about getting to make pizza all looking up at me with anticipation.  This is when I got my idea to use my use my biscuit recipe as the crust.  It was a hit with the kids!  Phew got through that mess.  But as they say, ‘through struggle brings growth’ and it turned out I came up with a new recipe that everyone seems to love.  Works for me!

Easy to Make Homemade Garlic Croutons

Easy to Make Homemade Garlic Croutons are a quick recipe and a great addition to many meals, soups, and salads.   The garlic provides the health benefits of vitamin B-6, vitamin C, and manganese.  The parsley adds vitamin K, vitamin C, and is a great source of beta-carotene.  The antioxidant, beta-carotene can help protect the body against free-radical damage and fight the effects of aging. That sound good to me!  I really enjoy making healthy foods that taste great.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  Mine was fantastic.  I got to cook, decorate, and be with family – what could be better!

The Healthy Butternut Squash Soup is a way to decompress from the rich foods of the holidays.  This tasty recipe is full of nutrition such as fiber, vitamin C, manganese, magnesium,  Potassium along with an excellent source of vitamin A, E.  These benefits are due to our friend the butternut squash.

An additional attribute to the Healthy Butternut Squash Soup is how easy it is to customize.  The soup has a natural sweet flavor that I feel is well complemented by homemade croutons and feta cheese.  The added cheese provides a salty contrast and protein.

DIY Christmas Mason Jar Gift Idea

I definitely caught the Mason Jar bug.  They can be used in so many ways.  I like to use them for storing oats, nuts and other pantry items.  The small versions work well for carrying your favorite salad dressing.  Pop it out, shake and apply.

I have also found mason jars are great for either holding candles or making candles.  By placing a candle inside a mason jar and wrapping it with a ribbon you create a fun decorative atmosphere.  Plus, you get added safety by catching the wax and making a stable base.

I really like giving homemade gifts.  They are much more budget friendly and can, in many cases, mean more to the person receiving it.

Banana Bread Muffins

Yummy Yummy and oh so easy to make!  Banana Bread Muffins are perfect for your holiday breakfasts or any other time of the day.  Sometimes, if  I’m having an off day, I  declare it a holiday.  This means it’s time to bake some comfort foods and these are the perfect thing.

My Mom would make this recipe for us kids and it was always such a special treat.  However, in order to make this bread more modern day friendly, I like to serve them in muffin tins instead of a loaf for those people who have to grab something on the run out the door. Continue Reading

Easy No-knead Breakfast Cinnamon Rolls

Nothing ls better on a cool crisp autumn morning then baking cinnamon’s rolls.  Even if you live in an area of the country where the changing of seasons is recognized by the need to possibly put tennis shoes instead of flip-flops and a wet-suits instead of a bathing suit, there is still something magical about cinnamon and sugar.

The Stuffed Mushroom Flavor Explosion Recipe is the perfect side dish to keep your guests or family saying “Yum!” “Oh, that’s good” and “Are there any more of those little things that taste so buttery”

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween!  For the last 4 years David and I have been hired to hand out candy, on Halloween night, at a local restaurant.  Getting to see all the costume and meeting so many people in our community helps me to bring in the holiday season.  I wish I could have had my camera with me but unfortunately, Rapunzel’s character does not have an iPhone.
