DIY Rectangle Christmas Wreath.
This DIY Rectangle Christmas Wreath was a lot of fun to make! Plus, it comes with two free printouts! Big thanks to my brother Rob for the PDF artwork.
As I listen to Christmas music and write this post i’m also daydreaming of all the things that need cooking, hanging and brightening. It’s all so exciting! I know that if I create something during the holiday time it puts me in the spirit even more and this wreath is just the ticket!
I haven’t made a Christmas wreath in a long time and I wanted to make something different this year. So, with coupons in hand, I went to Micheal’s. I found the perfect frame for only $9. Add the 50% off coupon and you have a great bargain. After buying some fake flowers and foliage along with some ribbon and other goodies we can exit the store feeling good knowing the bill was under $18.
On that note, I will be adding some Budget friendly DIY gift giving ideas to the blog soon. I have a lot of good friends that I want to give something to this Christmas but I still need to keep it in budget.
- 1 11 x14 in. picture frame. click here This one is very similar to the one pictured
- 1 Bunch of fake Poinsettias
- 1 Bunch of fake Pine cones
- 1 Bunch of fake Greener
- 1 Little House
- Wired Ribbon 1 1/2 inch wide
- Glue Gun with glue sticks
- Thick paper plate (This is optional. I used it for the glue gun so it wouldn’t leak on the table.)
- Free PDF Printout Merry Christmas Joyeux Noël ( It will open the PDF in a new tab. Click on the picture of the PDF and you can print it out.)
- Craft glue
- The Bead Smith 100% hemp cord
Cut all poinsettias flowers and leaves off leaving no hard wire stems.
Add little house to frame ( I would hold up the frame to see where to place it.)
I really focus on the four corners of the frame. Place the pine cone’s on top of the greenery so they stand out.
Cut your beading cord into 18 and 21 in. lengths
Print out your PDF. I used regular printing paper (Next time I would try card stock instead for more stability.)
Cut out PDF printout and glue to beading cord using craft glue.
Glue PDF banner to frame. Use the ‘french tip’ tails of the bow and poinsettia flowers to hide the beading cord.
Your Rectangle Christmas Wreath is done! You have the option of leaving the banner off and using a picture instead.
