  • “Noelle’s Tasty Tips”  How to get that strong onion taste out.

Oh boy, fresh salsa!  It goes well with omelets, country breakfast potatoes as well as tacos and all the other items that need a fresh kick  Though I do love salsa, I am not a fan of anything spicy.  My Pico de Gallo Salsa Recipe has no heat at all.  I’m sure you could add it if you wanted to with some jalapenos but I have no experience with spicy things and how they affect the flavor. This simple recipe is also great to make with a little one who is being introduced to the kitchen for the first time.

Supplies Used

  1. Fresh Tomatoes
  2. Onion
  3. Fresh Cilantro
  4. Salt
  5. Garlic
  6. Lime

pico de galloNoelle's Tasty Tips This a very simple tip, but for me, I really don’t like a strong onion taste in my salsa.  This tip will not take out the taste of the onion but rather make its presence a little less pronounced.

This tip can be used for so many different recipes that call for raw onions.

  • Chop the onion into small pieces
  • Pour the water over the onions
  • Let sit for 5 minutes
  • Drain and discard the water from the onions
  • That’s all : )

pico de galloNow that we have our supples, let’s make some salsa!
