Easy to Make Homemade Garlic Croutons are a quick recipe and a great addition to many meals, soups, and salads. The garlic provides the health benefits of vitamin B-6, vitamin C, and manganese. The parsley adds vitamin K, vitamin C, and is a great source of beta-carotene. The antioxidant, beta-carotene can help protect the body against free-radical damage and fight the effects of aging. That sound good to me! I really enjoy making healthy foods that taste great.
Start out with a fresh baby boule (french bread)
Cut into slices and then cut into 1/2″ cubes
Step 1: Break apart garlic bulb
Step 2: Place flat part of knife on garlic clove and press down with body weight
Step 3: Remove Peel
Dice 3 cloves of garlic. Chop fresh flat leaf Italian parsley.
First, melt your butter in a medium saute pan. Once melted, add chopped parsley, diced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Cook for 2-5 min. on a low heat making sure not to brown garlic (If the garlic gets brown it will add a bitter taste).
Spread bread cubes on baking sheet and pour melted butter sauce over.
Toss well so all bread cubes are evenly coated
Place in oven to bake for 10-15 min until crispy and golden brown. Make sure to enjoy the Italian smell that fills your home. These Easy to make Butter Garlic Parsley Croutons are a great topping to my former post, Health Butternut Squash Soup.
