  • Taste Impression: Has that Diner taste but with less the fat.

A good day for me is a day with the fridge full of leftovers. One thing I definitely like doing is creating new recipes using these ingredients.  When I was designing this dish I had the holidays in mind. After eating all that rich holiday meals. This recipe provides a much need break without losing any of that classic turkey and gravy Diner taste.

It can be served with wild rice or poured on toasted bread.

Supplies Used In The Leftover Turkey Recipe

Turkey Recipe

Place onions and mushroom in a warm pan with melted butter. Cook until onions are soft and golden and mushroom are cooked. Remove them from the pan. Time to make the gravy.

Turkey Recipe

Using the same pan:

  1. Melt butter and add all the flour at once
  2. With a wooden spoon mix the butter and flour
  3. Keep mixing for about 4 minutes. The mixture should be thick and a light golden color.

Turkey Recipe

Slowly add the water to the butter-flour mixture. Staring quite quickly.  Once the gravy is a thick consistency add the soy sauce.

Turkey Recipe

Add the mushroom and onion back into the gravy.  ( The gravy may become a little lumpy but by adding the mushrooms and onions and continuing to stir all should work out.)  😉

Turkey Recipe

Place the cooked turkey or chicken in the pan and cook for 5 minutes.

Time to plate it!

Turkey RecipeTastes great with wild rice and salad.
